KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 14, 2022) - Queen's Baseball took home two major awards from the OUA for the 2022 season, with pitcher Jordan Leishman being named Most Valuable Player and Jeff Melrose being named Coach of the Year.
Leishman and Melrose helped lead the Gaels to their first OUA Baseball championship in program history last month.
After finishing 3-1 in the OUA regional qualifiers to advance to Championship weekend, Queen's defeated the Guelph Gryphons 1-0 in the semifinals and the Toronto Varsity Blues 13-11 in the Championship Game to earn the banner.
Leishman was also named an OUA All-Star alongside outfielder Rowan Radzinski.
