KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 23, 2022) - Queen's Men's Soccer ended their regular season on a high after a 6-0 victory against the Laurentian Voyageurs Sunday at Richardson Stadium.
Before the match, a ceremony was held honouring the team's seniors and their contributions to the Queen's Men's Soccer. Noah Campaga, Daniel Lee, Nick Alie Day, Jason Cho, Manuel Dirube, Nick Rallis and Ethan Westbury were celebrated by their families, friends, teammates and the Gaels supporters before the game.
Senior and team captain Nick Alie Day opened scoring for the Gaels in the 16th minute, netting his first goal of the season. Campagna added another one to the scoreboard, getting on the right end of a penalty shot in the 28th minute. To close out the first half, Andrea Gortana added one more, assisted by Alie Day, to finish the half 3-0.Â
Queen's doubled their lead in the second half with goals from Gortana, his second of the day, Nick Rallis, and Nathan Fong closing off the scoring for a strong win for the Gaels to close off their regular season and build momentum as they head into the first round of the OUA Playoffs.
