Queen's Women's Soccer will play for the OUA Championship after defeating the Ottawa Gee-Gees 2-0 in Ottawa, Ont Saturday.
After a scoreless first half,
Jamie Foot (North Vancouver, B.C.) opened the scoring in the 54th minute and Celilia Way (Victoria, B.C.) added the second goal for the Gaels four minutes later in their OUA semifinal win.
Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.) stopped eight shots, including a big save on a Gee-Gees penalty kick late in the game, to record the clean sheet. Queen's finished with 11 shots (five on goal) in the win.
With the win, Queen's also booked their spot into the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship.
The Gaels will compete for the OUA Championship on Friday, Nov. 12 against the winner of the other OUA semifinal match between the Western Mustangs and Nipissing Lakers.
