Queen's Women's Soccer defeated the Cape Breton Capers 3-0 in the Consolation Final at the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship in Cape Breton, N.S. on Sunday. With the win, the Gaels finished fifth in the country at the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship.
Jenna Matsukubo (Ottawa, Ont.) scored two goals to lead Queen's to the Consolation Final win, while
Hannah Melchiorre (Thunder Bay, Ont.), added Queen's third goal.
Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.), finished the game with three saves for the clean sheet.
The Gaels advanced to the Consolation Final after a 1-0 win in penalty kicks over the Acadia Axewomen on Friday. Queen's opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to the MacEwan Griffins.
