Gaels can’t hold onto first-period lead as No.3 Ravens come back for 3-2 win

KINGSTON, Ont. (February 1, 2020) - The Queen's Gaels (11-12-3) couldn't hold onto an early 2-0 lead and fell 3-2 to the No.3 nationally-ranked Carleton Ravens (23-3-1) on Saturday night in Kingston.

THINK PINK GAME FLOW
The first period saw the Gaels jump ahead of the Ravens as first Patrick Sanvido floated a point shot in on Carleton netminder Mark Grametbauer who was fooled on the play as it found the back of the net.

Just under five minutes later the Gaels struck again to jump ahead 2-0. A rebound popped out to Ryan Cranford who dished to a wide-open Mason Kohn who made no mistake scoring his fourth of the season. The Gaels finished out the period ahead 2-0.

The second period saw the OUA East leading and No.3 nationally ranked Ravens storm back to tie the game at 2-2. After Cole Carter scored to make it 2-1, Matthew Forchuk added another just a minute and 12 seconds later beating Queen's goaltender Luke Richardson to tie the game 2-2.

Just 59 seconds into the third period Darian Skeoch scored for the Ravens to give them their first lead of the game and the goal held up as Carleton took a 3-2 victory.
