KINGSTON, Ont (February 1, 2020) – The Queen's Gaels (10-4) defeated the York Lions (4-8) in straight sets 3-0 for their 10th win of the season on Saturday afternoon.

Big blocks and quick defence characterized the first set. With
Adam Boljkovac sending kills to the Lions side of the court (completing a match total of 14 kills), and
Dax Tompkins guarding the net (completing a total of five block assists), the Gaels took a smooth 25-19 set win.
Zac Hutcheson dominated the second set with kills that the Lions defence could not return. Hutcheson completed a match total of 15 kills and four digs. However, several serving errors for the Gaels kept the set at a point- for-point pace. The Gaels momentum on offence secured them the set lead 25-18.
The Lions flipped the script in the third, leading most of the set. However, following the technical time-out,
Erik Siksna's blocking kept the Lions at bay. Siksna completed a match total of 10 kills. After tense final moments of long rallies, athletic offence and a point-for-point struggle, the Gaels managed to hold onto the set 33-31, taking a clean set sweep 3-0.
