Gaels comeback falls short against Toronto Varsity Blues

KINGSTON, Ont. (September 1, 2019) – The Queen's Gaels (0-2-0) fell 3-2 to the Toronto Varsity Blues (2-0-0) on Sunday afternoon in front of 280 fans in attendance.

GAME FLOW
The Varsity Blues opened the game with an early goal as Koosha Nazemi scored in the 11th minute.   

Nazemi tallied his second goal of the night in the 43rd minute to make the score 2-0. The Gaels responded quickly as Da Hyung Lee scored his first goal of the season just before halftime.

The second half began with both teams trading scoring opportunities until Blues midfielder Nicholas Osorio found the back of the net in the 69th minute to increase Toronto's lead to 3-1.

Jason Cho scored in the minute to bring the Gaels to within one. However, the Tricolour were unable to find another goal in the final moments of the match. 

BY THE NUMBERS
12  – Toronto had 12 shots to the Gaels' nine.
2  – Koosha Nazemi scored two goals for Toronto in the victory. 
1 –  First-year defender Da Hyung Lee scored his first goal as a member of the Gaels.
