Men 5th, women 6th at Canadian University Rowing Championship

ELK LAKE, BC. (November 3, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels rowing team competed at the Canadian University Rowing Championship this past weekend, earning four silver medals. 

WOMEN 

Gaels duo Danica Vansgaard and Greta Chase (7:15.95) earned silver in the Lightweight Women's 2x trailing closely behind UBC (7:12.23) who won the event. The women's open 2- duo of Paige Adams and Claire Ellison also earned silver (7:23.19).

Jane Carlton finished in fourth place (8:13.93) in the Open Lightweight Women's 1x. Rounding out the women,  Shaye DePaiva (7:56.78) came first in the Women's 1x in the B Final. 

MEN 

Evan Notley earned silver (7:11) in the Lightweight Men's 1x just behind Brock (7:04.1). Michael Bryenton also came in second this time in the Men's 1x event (6:53.28) while the University of British Columbia won gold (6:52.29).

Rookies Basil Janco-Szabo and Andrew Hubbard finished fourth in the Men's Open 2- (6:42.4) behind, Victoria (6:39.49), UBC (6:36.75) and Western (6:33.77). 

Gaels rowers Benjamin Ravenscroft, Lucas Celia, Michael Trolio, Adam Sunavsky and Megan Stellato finished fourth in the Lightweight Men's 4+ (6:34.26).
