Following an OUA quarter-final loss to the Carleton Ravens that ended their 2018-19 season, the Gaels will look to make another playoff run as they tip-off the 2019-20 OUA season on the road against the Nipissing Lakers on October 25. The Gaels will be without last season's leading scorer Jaz Bains, and brothers Jesse and Tanner Graham. Bains averaged 19 points per game, the sixth-best mark in the OUA last season. Bains led the Gaels in scoring for the past two seasons.

As fellow fifth-year players, the Graham brothers provided a key veteran leadership on the team as well as production on the court.

Tanner averaged a career-high in 15.6 ppg and led the Gaels with eight rebounds per game.

This season, the Gaels will be led by key fourth-year returnees Quinton Gray, Henry Van Herk and Harry Range. Gray made an impressive leap last season averaging a career-high 14.2 ppg on 40.3 pct shooting and started in all 23 games for Queen's.

Van Herk and Range both primarily came off the bench last season averaging 5.9 and 5.1 ppg, respectively.

Stephan Barrie enters his ninth season as the Queen's basketball head coach. In 2018, Barrie led the Gaels to their first winning season and playoff victory since the 2015-16 season.
