Women's Rugby
The No.4 Gaels head into the weekend coming off a dominant 68-10 road victory against the Western Mustangs.
On Saturday at 1:00pm, the Gaels will host the No.7 Guelph Gryphons (0-0) in what may be the most anticipated matchup of the season. Last year, the Gaels fell to the Gryphons in the OUA Championship game in Guelph. Looking for revenge, the Gaels will look to remain undefeated with a solid performance on their home turf.
The game will be held on Nixon Field and admission is free for all fans. The game will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.
Men's Rugby
The men's rugby team will look to continue their unprecedented run as they host the Laurier Golden Hawks (1-0) on Sunday at 1:00pm at Nixon Field.
Last weekend, the Gaels took care of business at home against the Waterloo Warriors. Their 74-6 victory was a great way to start the new campaign.
Dylan Young had a standout game as he scored 19 points which included a try and seven conversions. He was named as the OUA's Peak Performer as a result from his outing.
Laurier enters the matchup coming off a 50-0 road shutout of Trent. They also have revenge on their mind after the Gaels eliminated them from the OUA playoffs last year in a 54-7 blowout loss. Â
There is free admission for all fans and the game will be streamed live on OUA.tv.
Women's Soccer
The No.5 Queen's women's soccer team got things kicked off last weekend with a clean sweep of the Nipissing Lakers and the Laurentian Voyageurs.
Now they must turn their attention to two games coming up this weekend. First, on Friday evening at 5:00pm the Gaels will travel to Oshawa to take on the UOIT Ridgebacks (1-3-0). Then on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm, the Gaels will head to Peterborough for a meeting with the Trent Excalibur (0-2-2).
Look for Queen's Female Varsity Athlete of the Week,
Jenny Wolever, to continue her scoring hot streak as she's recorded three goals in the team's two opening games.
Men's Soccer
The team ended last weekend on a high note with a 2-0 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs on home turf. Now, much like the women's team, they will head out for their first road trip of the season.
On Friday at 7:15pm the Gaels will take on the UOIT Ridgebacks (0-4-0) followed by a Sunday matchup with the Trent Excalibur (0-4-0) at 3:15pm.
2017 OUA All-Star
Alex Jones began his season with a clean sheet performance against the Voyageurs. He and the Gaels will look to continue to build momentum before three home games against tough opponents (RMC, Toronto, Ryerson) next week.
