Gaels fall 4-1 on the road to No.6 Ryerson

TORONTO, Ont. (September 29, 2018) – The Queen's Gaels (6-4-0) suffered an unfortunate 2-1 loss to the Ryerson Rams (9-0-1) in a tough game on the road.

GAME FLOW
Early in the first half of the game, the Gaels found the lead thanks to a goal in the 8th minute by Matthew Reale (Ancaster, Ont.).

The Tricolour continued to play with high intensity but a foul in the 12
th
minute of the game allowed the Rams to tie the game with a goal off a free kick. The Gaels attempted to regain momentum, but the Rams took the lead off their second goal of the half. The Tricolour were unable to find the back of the net again before the end of the second half.

Ryerson continued to extend their lead early in the second half with a third goal scored in the 53rd minute of the match.

In the 72
nd
minute, a Ryerson goal lengthened their lead once more, making the score 4-1. 


It was the second loss to Ryerson this season for the Gaels who will look to bounce back tomorrow and snap their two game losing streak.

The Gaels remain in Toronto to take on the Toronto Varsity Blues (7-3-0)  in another away game on Sunday, September 30 2018 at 3:15pm.
