Gaels fall to Concordia, bounce back with win over Laval in exhibition road trip

MONTREAL (September 28, 2018) - The Queen's men's basketball team is in Quebec for the weekend taking on Concordia and Laval in non-conference exhibition play.

FRIDAY
The Gaels opened up the weekend taking on the Concordia Stingers in Montreal. After trailing by five after the opening frame Queen's took a 31-27 lead into halftime.

The home-side came out strong in the second half outscoring Queen's 37-25 to take a 64-56 win.

Queen's struggled from the free-throw line on the night shooting just 4-14 compared to a 16-20 mark for the Stingers.

The Gaels were led by Jaz Bains who finished with a game-high 17 points while hitting five of nine three point shots. Queen's will look to right the ship on Saturday afternoon at Laval.

SATURDAY
The Gaels finished their exhibition weekend with a 79-70 win over Laval. 

Quinton Gray had a tremendous performance as he put up 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to help lead the Gaels to victory on Saturday afternoon.

UP NEXT
The Gaels will have a couple of weeks off before their next set of exhibition matchups. They'll host the Tindall Invitational Tournament starting October 12 as they the UNB Varsity Reds then on October 14 they will take on the UQAM Citadins.
