TORONTO, Ont. (September 15, 2018) – The Gaels Men's Rugby Team (3-0) continued their dominant OUA play cruising to a 97-8 road victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues (0-3) on Saturday night.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels dominated the opening 25 minutes of the match, scoring 26 unanswered points before the Blues were finally able to get on the board with a penalty goal.
The Gaels would add another two tries before halftime, with the score 40-3 in favour of the away side. Standout performers from the first half included
Nicholas DeLallo who continued his torrid try- scoring pace with three in the first half as well as
Connor Jaques who made four of his five conversions.
The second half was much the same for the Gaels, Toronto was only able to break through once for a try on a Griffin Giles effort in the 63rd minute, while the Gaels added a whopping ten second-half tries, leaving the full-time total just short of the century mark.
Nicholas DeLallo added another two tries in the second half, making a total of five on the night, while
Sam Ibbotson (3) and Ruaindh MacPhail (2) were also multiple try scorers.
