Five Gaels find back of SLC net in final exhibition

KINGSTON, Ont. (August 26, 2018) - Five separate Gaels were able to find the back of the St. Lawrence College Vikings net on Sunday afternoon leading the Tricolour to a 5-1 win over the Kingston OCAA team.

GAME FLOW
The Gaels were dominant in the match from start to finish controlling nearly all of the flow throughout the match. In total Queen's fired 21 shots on the SLC goal connecting five times.

Queen's scored in the 1st, 16th, 17th, 35th and 74th minutes. Kyle Owens struck in the opening 60 seconds putting Queen's in the driver seat and setting the tone for the final 89 minutes of play.

A goal in the 57th minute cut the Gaels lead down to 4-1 but the final tally came off the foot of James Michaelis to secure the 5-1 final.

Alex Jones had a quiet afternoon and finished with one save for the victory.

UP NEXT
The Gaels begin their OUA season as they welcome the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday at 2:15 pm to Richardson Stadium. Admission is free as the Gaels look to start the season with a victory at home.
