Kohn has 4 points, Fazio makes 55 saves in win over UQTR

KINGSTON, Ont. (November 9, 2018) – The Queen's Gaels (7-3-0) got back on track Friday night with their 5-2 win over the No.9 UQTR Patriotes (6-4-0).

With the pressure that comes on a two-game losing streak, the Gaels had to take on a red-hot UQTR squad who had won three in a row.

GAME FLOW
The Gaels opened the scoring early in the first as Mason Kohn scored his team-leading third powerplay goal of the season.

Despite being heavily outshot in the period, the Gaels managed to grab a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission as Mason Kohn scored his second of the period off a physical rush towards the net.

The second period was fairly quiet other than a UQTR goal, which cut the Gaels' lead in half. Jason Lavallee's goal was the lone strike of the period as the Patriotes outshot the Gaels 21-4 in the frame.

UQTR had plenty of shots but weren't capitalizing on their opportunities, allowing Queen's to add to their lead in the third.

Luke Edwards scored his first of the year on the powerplay to bring the Gaels lead up to 3-1. However, under a minute later Elie Berube responded for the Patriotes to bring the score to 3-2.

In the final moments, Duncan Campbell pounced on a rebound to put the game out of reach. Two minutes later, Slater Doggett scored his fifth of the season to bring the final tally to 5-2 for the Gaels.

MUST-SEE MOMENTS
Mason Kohn kicked off the scoring on the powerplay! He wasn't done their as point #2 came on goal #2.
Edwards buried the eventual game-winning goal early in the third.

BACK TO FORM
After allowing six goals in the Gaels' loss to Ottawa, Justin Fazio bounced back with a 53-save performance against the Patriotes.

UQTR was constantly sending shots Fazio's way, however the first year goaltender was up to the task as he made his first 50-save performance of his U SPORTS career.
