BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (October 18, 2018) – The Queen's men's basketball team wrapped up their preseason with a dominant 89-54 win over the NCAA's St. Lawrence University Saints.
The Saints who are from Canton, New York are a member of the NCAA Division III Liberty League.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels began the game by creating space and taking multiple three-point opportunities. In the quarter the Gaels shot 6-12 from behind the 3-point arc and carried a 24-13 lead into the break.
The Gaels kept pressing in the second quarter as they limited the Saints to just 25% shooting in the frame.
Matt Elcock had a pair of three pointers as the Gaels pushed their lead to 43-26 at the half.
The second half was much of the same as the Gaels held the Saints to 37% shooting as they continued to build onto their lead. In the fourth quarter, the Gaels starters mostly saw the bench as the reserves had their chance to shine. The Gaels shot 10-15 in
the final frame to come away with a 45-point win.

Matt Elcock had a massive game as he posted 31 points on 11-16 shooting. He also nailed nine of his 13 three pointers.
23 – The Gaels forced the Saints to turn the ball over 23 times which allowed them to create 31 points off those turnovers.
47 – The Gaels bench put up 47 points on Thursday afternoon as head coach
Stephan Barrie was getting the whole roster involved.
