TORONTO (January 13, 2018) –The No.8 Queen's Gaels (9-3-1-3) dropped a tough 4-3 overtime decision to the Ryerson Rams (4-5-4-2) on Saturday night. Justine Johnson scored the overtime winner at 3:06 of the extra frame to send the Rams home with the win.

Queen's came out firing in the first period and took advantage of a power play opportunity at 6:33 when Amber Healey (Elora, Ont.) fired home her first goal of the season. Ryerson replied at 9:49 when Emma Low-A-Chee fired a shot past Queen's goalie
Makenzy Arsenault (Whitby, Ont.) to tie the game 1-1.
Katrina Manoukarakis (Scarborough, Ont.) would help the Gaels regain the lead late in the period, again on the power play, when she beat Ryerson goalie Rachel Seeley. Queen's would head into the first intermission leading 2-1.
The Gaels would add to their lead early in the second period, as
Hailey Wilson (Pickering, Ont.) scored her sixth of the season at 3:06 on the power play. The Rams would fight back and cut the lead to 3-2 at 9:59 when Alex Rodriguez beat Arsenault.
Heading into the third period leading 3-2, the Gaels seemed to have the game in control. Ryerson would show their resiliency and score the game-tying goal at 12:25 off the stick of Brooklyn Gemmill. An extra frame would be needed to decide this game.
Just over three minutes into the extra period, Ryerson would send the Gaels home unhappy when Johnson ended the game when she scored her first of the season.
Seeley secured the win in net for the Rams while Arsenault would make 29 saves in the loss for the Gaels.
