The men continued to play with control, and only five minutes later, Brevin Mackay (Ottawa) slid another goal past the Nipissing goalie to bring their lead to 2-0. Again, six minutes after the second goal,
Patrick Van Belleghem (Kenora, Ont.) scored the third and final goal of the game, unassisted. The Tricolour continued to play a strong defensive game, maintaining their 3-0 lead over Nipissing.
