TORONTO - The No.7 Queen's women's rugby team (2-1) picked up a 31-12 win at the York Lions (0-3) on Friday night.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels were able to get off to a good start in the opening half despite being the visiting team. Queen's found themselves with a 12-5 lead after 40 minutes.
Lauren Murray (Lindsay, Ont.) and
McKinley Hunt (King City, Ont.) were able to land tries for Queen's in the opening half.
In the second half the Gaels continued to pile up points, outscoring York 19-7.
Nadia Popov (Newmarket, Ont.),
Molly Labenski (Oakville, Ont.) and
Pippi McKay (Toronto) all found the scoresheet in the second half for the Tricolour.
In the end Queen's came away with a 31-12 victory.
Dominique Rumball (Scarborough, Ont.) also added three conversions for Queen's in the match.
