KINGSTON, Ont. (August 28, 2017) – Richardson Stadium was host to the last non-conference exhibition match today for the Gaels women's soccer team before the start of the OUA regular season this Saturday. With a 1-1 draw over the Acadia Axewomen, Queen's closed out preseason play as an undefeated squad with a 3-0-2 exhibition record.
Queen's vs. UQTR
KINGSTON, Ont. (August 25, 2017) - The Queen's Gaels women's soccer team was under the lights Friday night at Richardson Stadium as they welcomed the visiting UQTR Patriotes to Kingston.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels were quick out of the gate in the opening half as they opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Katie Sandrin struck for the Gaels to put them in front. The Gaels closed the opening half with a three shots to one advantage.
Queen's added another three shots on target in the second half but the Patriotes were able to find an equalizer on one of their two shots. Maude Poulin was able to beat the Queen's keeper to knot the game at 1-1 in the 76th minute.
Neither team could break the other from there and the game closed with a 1-1 draw.

Queen's vs. Acadia
KINGSTON, Ont. (August 28, 2017) – The Gaels drew level to the visiting Acadia Axewomen with a 1-1 final score in their last exhibition match of the preseason.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels put on the offensive pressure, accumulating 20 shots in the first 45 minutes of play. It was only in the closing minutes of the first half that the Gaels opened the scoring with a corner kick served in from third-year
Jenny Wolever. Coming from the back, Gaels defender Micah Vermeer was sure to get her head on the end of the Wolever set piece to edge the Axewomen 1-0 before the half.
The final goal of the match came in the 86th minute from the Axewomen to draw level with the Gaels.
