NAPANEE, Ont. (February 18. 2017) The Queen's Gaels (9-5-8-2) lost 3-2 in overtime to the Western Mustangs (10-4-9-1) on Saturday night in OUA women's hockey at the Strathcona Paper Centre in Napanee.
GAME FLOW
The Gaels got the jump on the Mustangs early in the opening period as
Bryce Desa (London, Ont.) scored her first career goal for Queen's giving the home side a 1-0 lead.
Just over five-minutes later the Mustangs were able to tie the game at 1-1 as April Clark notched her eighth goal of the season.
In the second, the Gaels leading goal scorer
Addi Halladay (North Augusta, Ont.) added to her total with her 13th goal on the year at 3:47 into the second. It ended up as the only tally in the frame and Queen's entered the third looking to hold onto their lead.
With just 1:31 left in the game Evra Levesque scored for Western to tie things up at 2-2. The game then headed to overtime where once again it was Levesque coming through for Western scoring the game-winner.
