TORONTO (Feb. 11, 2017) – The Queen's Gaels (9-4-8-1) defeated the York Lions (3-2-12-4) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in OUA women's hockey action.

Queen's came out strong, scoring back-to-back goals in the first period. Nine minutes in, Claire McKellar (London, Ont.) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal. One minute later,
Danelle Bishoff (Calgary) scored for the Gaels, extending the lead to 2-0.
Mackenzie Stamper (Oakville, Ont.) and
Kyla Crouse (Mount Brydges, Ont.) assisted on the play.
In spite of several close chances in the second, the period proved to be scoreless, allowing the Gaels to maintain a 2-0 lead heading into the third. In the third period,
Hailey Wilson (Pickering, Ont.) scored an empty net goal at the end of the period, which allowed the Gaels to take a 3-0 final over the Lions.
