OTTAWA (February 11, 2017) – The No.9 Queen's Gaels (18-7-3) defeated the Carleton Ravens (16-9-3) 2-1 Saturday evening setting a new franchise record for wins in a season with 18. The Gaels finished as the third seed in the OUA East and will meet the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the opening round of the OUA playoffs.

In the first period, Carleton out-shot Queen's 11-4, but Gaels goaltender
Jacob Brennan (Halifax) was able to hold off the Ravens attack. At the end of the period, the score remained 0-0.
In the second period,
Nevin Guy (Mountain, Ont.) scored for the Gaels, with
Peter Angelopolous (Nobleton, Ont.) and
Francesco Vilardi (Kingston, Ont.) assisting on the play. This gave the Gaels a 1-0 lead heading into the third period.
In the third, Carleton tied the game with a powerplay goal five minutes in. Brent Norris scored for the Ravens with Alexandre Boivin and Adam Chapman assisting. This forced the game into overtime.
In overtime,
Dylan Anderson (Greely, Ont.) scored the game-winning goal for the Gaels.
Ted Hunt (Toronto) and Guy assisted on the play that sealed the record setting win.
