BOX SCORE TROIS RIVIERES, Que. (November 3, 2017) – The Queen's Gaels (3-1-3) dropped a 6-3 decision to the No. 9 UQTR Patriots (7-1-0) on Friday night. The Gaels trailed for most of the night and were unable to grab the momentum in the game, despite outshooting the Patriots 30-27.

The Patriots were able to beat Queen's netminder
Jacob Brennan (Halifax, N.S.) for the game's first goal at 8:01 when Pierre-Maxime Poudrier notched his fifth of the season to give UQTR a 1-0 lead. They would add to that lead at 9:58, when Gabriel Slight made it 2-0 with a power play marker.
The Gaels found some new life in the second period as they were able to get back into the game when
Spencer Abraham scored his first goal of the season at 12:24.
Eric Ming (Williamstown, Ont.) added his third of the season on the power play at 14:21 to even the score at 2-2. Patriots' forward Felix Plouffe stopped the Gaels onslaught at 17:06 when he scored to give UQTR a 3-2 lead heading to the third period.
UQTR would add to their lead early in the third period and take a 5-2 advantage after goals by Elie Berube and Christophe Boivin. Gaels forward
Ryan Bloom (Calgary, Alta.) would tally his second goal of the season to cut the lead to 5-3 at 5:38 but it was too little too late as the Patriots iced the game with an empty netter to make the final score 6-3.
Sebastien Auger picked up the win in net for the Patriots while Brennan took the loss for the Gaels.
