Gaels Take Win Over RMC 3-1

KINGSTON, Ont. (November 18, 2017) – The Queen's Gaels (4-1) take the win in a great battle against the RMC Paladins (1-5) with a score of 3-1. The scores of each set were 18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19 respectively.
 
GAME FLOW
In the first set, the Tricolour started out strong but were quickly shut down with 13 kills made by the Paladins. The Gaels struggled to maintain control of the set and racked up six errors. Kills by Markus Trence (Hockley Valley, Ont.) and Mitchell Neuert (Toronto) brought their score up to 18 but the Gaels were unable to pull of the win. The Paladins ended the set with a score of 25-18 making the match 1-0 for RMC.

The second set brought more intensity to the Gaels as they began to make their quick come back. The Tricolour took 12 kills this set with only four errors, keeping the Paladins from catching their lead. The Gaels took the set 25-19 and tied the match at 1-1.

The third set was the strongest for the Gaels, with 16 kills and two errors. Queen's took a big lead and the Paladins were unable to find the gaps in Queen's rock solid defence. Digs by Zane Grossinger (Richmond Hill, Ont.) helped the Gaels lengthen their lead and they took the set with a score of 25-19. Queen's took the lead in the match with 2 sets to 1.

The fourth and final set of the match held 12 kills for the Tricolour with only two errors. The Gaels held the Paladins to 19 points again and took the set with a score of 25-19 and winning the match with a score of 3-1.
