KINGSTON, Ont. (November 11, 2017) - The Queen's Gaels (4-3-3) dropped a 4-1 decision to the No.10 Carleton Ravens (8-1-1) on Saturday night in OUA men's hockey.
GAME FLOW
The Ravens were the first to get on the scoreboard in the opening period as Jared Steege potted his ninth of the season beating Gaels starting netminder
Jacob Brennan (Halifax).
Both teams clamped down defensively from there, and despite numerous powerplay chances for both sides, neither team was able to find the scoreboard for the better part of 40 minutes.
At the 19:23 mark of the second period the Ravens were able to extend their lead as Alexandre Boivin scored to make it a 2-0 Carleton lead.
In the third period, the Gaels were able to cut the deficit in half as
Graeme Brown (Gananoque, Ont.) scored a powerplay goal from
Ryan Bloom (Calgary) and
Spencer Abraham (Campbellville, Ont.) at 10:48.
The Gaels comeback was halted there as the Ravens were able to score to reclaim their two-goal lead when Boivin notched his second of the night. Carleton added an empty-netter and took a 4-1 win.
