TORONTO (October 20, 2017) – The Queen's Gaels (11-3-1) took down the Ryerson Rams (6-6-3) in a 1-0 score in Toronto under the lights on Friday night.

With the victory today, the Gaels need just one more win against the Toronto Varsity Blues tomorrow to clinch the second spot in the OUA East standings. With a second place finish, the Gaels would secure a first round bye-week and play host to an OUA quarterfinal match at Richardson Stadium.GAME FLOW
With 14 goals in their last two matches, the Queen's Gaels offense got off to a slower start than accustomed to in Rams territory.
It was in the closing minutes of the first half that the Gaels would notch the lone goal of the match to secure their third consecutive win. Queen's captain Laura Callender (Ottawa) would find the back of the net for the 12th time this season. Callendar's goals keeps her in the top spot of the conference, three ahead of the second top-scorer.
The score would stand for the rest of the game, with a late red card for the Ryerson side coming in the 85th minute.
