Women's hockey pushes Colgate to OT in exhibition before falling 2-1

HAMILTON, NY – The Queen's Gaels women's hockey team dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Colgate on Sunday afternoon in an exhibition contest.

Shae Labbe scored in the second period on the powerplay for Colgate to give the home side a 1-0 lead. 

Neither team found the scoresheet until the final moments of the third period. Clare McKellar finally broke through scoring a powerplay goal at 19:46 of the third period to force the game into overtime.

It took Colgate only 21 seconds into overtime before Kaila Pinkney  scored the game-winning goal.

Stephanie Pascal stopped 29 shots for the Gaels in the loss.

Queen's is back in action on Saturday October 14 when they open the OUA regular season at UOIT.
