KINGSTON, Ont. (January 21, 2017) - Today at RMC, the Queen's Gaels (7-4) took down the RMC Paladins (2-9) in a rematch from last weekend, this week at RMC. The Gaels won the match 3-1 with set scores of the games finishing at 25-16, 25-15, 23-25 and 25-15 for the Gaels.
GAME FLOW
In the first two games the Gaels took over against the Paladins with scores of 25-16 and 25-14. The Gaels were led on the afternoon by
Zac Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) and
Markus Trence (Orangeville, Ont.) who each had 12 kills and just two errors throughout the match.
After taking the first two sets, the Paladins struck back in the third. Led by Dale Towe, who finished with 17 kills in the match, RMC was able to extend the match to a fourth set with a close 25-23 win.
Doing exactly what they needed to finish the match, the Gaels were able to create some huge kills at a percentage of 0.545. Queen's won the final set, and the match with a final score of 25-15 to take it 3-1.
Jamie Wright (Kingston, Ont.) had a solid effort setting the Gaels with 38 assists while Hutcheson added 11 digs to lead Queen's.
