OSHAWA, Ont. (September 10, 2016) - Queen's picked up their third straight win to start the 2016 regular season with a 3-1 victory at UOIT on Sunday afternoon.

The Gaels got their first goal of the match from
Tonko Bacelic (Mississauga, Ont.) in the 19th minute, with
Oliver Coren (Toronto) picking up an assist. Just before the first half finished,
Andrew Martin (Kingston, Ont.) doubled the Gaels lead on an unassisted goal. In the first half, Gaels keeper
Kyle Lanzinger (Carleton Place, Ont.) wasn't forced to make a save.
UOIT came to life in the second half, getting two shots on target in the first ten minutes of the second frame. With under 15 minutes remaining, Erik Petrovic cut the lead in half off a pass from Jacob Sooklal. In stoppage time,
Julian Gailiunas (North Vancouver, B.C.) secured the victory for Queen's with an unassisted goal for the tricolour.
