Queen's Men Lacrosse | Mid-Season Update

Queen's vs. Trent: 8-11 (L) A tough battle against the number one seed, Trent. The game was tied 6-6 going into the second half. A few late penalties for the Gaels and a strong finish by Trent led to a final score of 11-8. Next meeting is scheduled for Friday October 14th at Queen's University.

Queen's vs. Nipissing: 12-11 (W) The first match-up between the two squads came down to a nail-biting finish. Senior, Ryan Donahoe, found the back of the net with 28 seconds remaining to give Queen's the go-ahead goal. Gaels picked up their first win on the season with a 12-11 win over Nipissing. Queen's vs. Nipissing: 6-11 (L) The Gaels had a difficult time finding rhythm in the second game vs. Nipissing. Penalties were a deciding factor in this game. Uneven play hurt Queen's throughout the four quarters. Final score was 6-11.

Queen's vs. McGill: 8-15 (L) Queen's picked up a loss against the defending league champions, the McGill Redmen. Queen's vs. Bishop's: 11-13 (L) The Gaels had a back-and-fourth matchup against Bishops during the home-opener. Queen's was leading at the half, 7-6. Penalties and mental mistakes killed the Gaels' momentum. A few late goals by the Gators led to 11-13 loss. Gaels are looking for a big redemption next week as we play Bishop's on their home turf.

Queen's vs. Carleton: 12-8 (W) The Gaels came out firing against Carleton. Taking command early in the first quarter provided Queen's with some insurance throughout the game. A great team victory backed by rookie goaltender, Ryan Kent. Queen's picked up their second win on the season with a final score of 12-8.

Queen's vs. Bishop's: 10-8 (W) A big time victory for the Queen's Gaels. An exceptional defensive effort, killing-off two, 2-man down penalty kills. Sophomore goaltender, Thomas Asma, had a career defining performance. An overall great team effort to give the Gaels a 10-8 victory over the Bishop Gators.
