Waterloo, Ont. – The Gaels (2-0-2-0) were defeated 6-0 against the Waterloo Warriors (2-1-1-0) Saturday evening.
GAME FLOW
The Warriors scored consistently throughout the game, getting two goals per period.
In the first, Marissa Redmond opened the scoring for the Warriors, shortly after the halfway mark in the period. Amy Barnard and Dana Fairbarn picked up assists on the play. Two minutes later, the Warriors scored a second goal. Cynthia Cavanagh scored, with an assist credited to Sioban Hewitt-Kenda. The Warriors led 2-0 at the end of the period.
In the second period, the Warriors scored two goals in the first three minutes. Alison Hanson scored the first goal, with an assist by Fairbarn. Two minutes later, Angela MacDonald scored, with an assist going to Alyssa Gee. The Warriors led 4-0 at the end of the period.
In the third period, the Warriors extended the lead to a 6-0 final. Alison Hanson picked up her second of the game, on an unassisted goal. In the final two minutes, Tegan Odland scored, assisted by Lindsey McDonald.
