No.6 Carleton Ravens score late to tie Gaels 1-1

KINGSTON, Ont. (October 2, 2016) – The Queen's Gaels (4-3-3) tied the No.6 Carleton Ravens (8-1-2) 1-1 at Carleton's Keith Harris Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

GAME FLOW
The game was very defensive on both sides, as the two teams who met just a few weeks ago in Kingston renewed their rivalry.

The Gaels opened the scoring in the 28th minute, on an unassisted goal from Nicholas Meunier (Lyon, France). This proved to be the only goal in the first half.

In the second half, the Carleton Raven's tied the game in the 83rd minute. Daud Dahir scored on a pass from Julian Piccioli. After a number of close chances from both teams, the score remained 1-1 at the sounding of the final whistle.

Alex Jones (Comox, B.C.) was solid in net for the Gaels. The 1st year made 11 saves on the Ravens, to keep the Gaels in the game.
