PEMBROKE, Ont. (October 1, 2016) - The Gaels were in Pembroke for game one of a two part exhibition series with the Carleton Ravens starting on Saturday afternoon.
Queen's fell behind 1-0 early as the Ravens were able to convert a powerplay goal.
Claire Warren got the start for Queen's and stopped all other shots she faced on the night making 24 saves. The Gaels fired 34 shots at the Ravens net but could not beat their goaltender and lost 1-0.
Pembroke natives Becky Conroy and Sam Regier were honoured in a special ceremony prior to puck drop.
SUNDAY
In the rematch Sunday afternoon it was all Gaels as they handled the Ravens easily in a 5-1 win. Warren got the start and secured the win for the Gaels as Queen's outshot Carleton 33-22.
Clare McKellar led the way for the Gaels with a pair of goals while Jessice Wakefield,
Nadia Larocca and
Hailey Wilson all scored for Queen's.
