Pittsburgh, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's hockey and the Queen's Gaels skated to a 2-2 tie in an exhibition game at 84 Lumber Arena on Saturday night.
Matthew Graham opened the scoring in the first period for the Colonials. Defenceman Rob Mann and Daniel Leavens chipped in assists on the Graham tally.Â
Queen's struck back in the second period on a goal by Brock Edwards, a graduate from the NCAA Niagara program. The teams combined for seven penalties in the second with the Colonials going 0-for-2 with 4 shots on the man advantage.
Robert Morris struck first in the third as Leavens scored with assists by linemates Ferguson and Graham. The Gaels once again found the equalizer thanks to a
Spencer Abraham goal.
The 2-2 score held through regulation, forcing overtime. Both teams had several quality chances but were unable to cash in. The result of the game was a tie.
Queen's will visit Penn State tomorrow afternoon before heading back to Kingston.
