Gaels This Week – Men's hockey is on the road Friday night in the only Varsity Team OUA season action this week.

The men's hockey team (10-4-0) are on the road to start the new year as they travel to Trois-Rivieres to battle the No. 5 UQTR Patriotes (15-2-1) Friday night with puck drop set for 7pm.
Queen's closed out their 2015 schedule with a pair of home wins over the Toronto Varsity Blues (6-9-2) and the Ryerson Rams (8-9-0) in early December.
Eric Ming (Williamsville, Ont.) chipped in on all Gaels goals in their 3-1 win over Toronto with two goals and one assist. Ming added two more points on one goal and one assist in Queen's 5-2 win against Ryerson.

Spencer Abraham (Campbellville, Ont.), joined the CIS men's hockey all-stars for a pair of games against Canada's National Junior Team prospects. Abraham scored the lone goal of the shootout to go with two regulation assists to push the CIS all-stars to a 5-4 shootout win. Teammate Bailie earned the victory in net with his 40 save performance.
UQTR sit tied atop the OUA East with No. 2 McGill with identical 15-2-1 records. The Patriotes are riding a six game win streak into 2016, needing extra time to beat their last three opponents, Brock, McGill and Laurentian. Queen's last met UQTR in the final game of the 2014-15 regular season, when the Gaels stole a 4-3 shootout win.
With nine points in his active five game point streak, Ming sits tied at 15 points with Abraham for top scorer on the Queen's roster.

The men's basketball team (6-1) play host to the No.3 McGill Redmen (4-0) from the RSEQ conference in an exhibition match this Saturday at the ARC Main Gym with tip-off set for 4pm in Kingston.
The Gaels enter play coming off their best start to a season since OUA play began at 6-1 placing them in first in the OUA East Division with 12 points. The Gaels have won three straight games and are a perfect 4-0 on the road this season.
McGill enters the game with a perfect 4-0 record good for first place in the RSEQ conference.
Queen's and McGill last met in 2010 and first met in the Gaels first ever game in 1904 where McGill defeated Queen's 9-7.
