HAMILTON - The Queen's women's hockey team suffered a tough 7-0 loss to Colgate women's hockey team in their exhibition match on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders were lead by first-year Olivia Zafuto and Breanne Wilson-Bennett, who both tallied two goals in the contest.
Colgate got on the board five minutes into the contest with the only goal of the opening period.
Colgate continued its offensive dominance by adding three more goals in the second period. Zafuto tallied two, while Kaila Pinkney recorded one. Zalewski, Hannah Rastrick, and Labbe were credited with the assists.
The final frame saw three more Raider goals, two by Wilson-Bennett and one by senior captain Katelyn Parker. Eldridge, Labbe, Rastrick, and Shelby Perry all picked up helpers on Colgate's closing tallies.
Queen's finished with just 11 shots in the game and saw their powerplay go 0-4.
Caitlyn Lahonen (Sharon, Ont.) stopped 29 shots in the loss.
The Gaels are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they visit Syracuse.
