Schroeter scores late as Gaels earn a 1-1 draw against Carleton

OTTAWA (August 30, 2015) - The Gaels (0-0-1) men's soccer team opened up their OUA regular season in Ottawa on Sunday afternoon taking on the Carleton Ravens (0-0-1) and finishing with a 1-1 draw.

GAME FLOW
The Gaels begin the season with a 1-1 draw on the road. The team fell behind in the first half when Carleton's Lovemore-Whi scored in the 22nd minute to give them the lead.

Gaels goalkeeper Taylor Reynolds (Kingston, Ont.) kept the team in the match saving five of his six shots on goal. Queen's evened up the match when they got on the scoresheet in the 81st minute when striker Jacob Schroeter (Ottawa) got his first goal of the year. Both the Gaels and the Ravens committed over 11 fouls each throughout the game; with a total of three yellow cards being issued, two for the Gaels Kristian Zanette (Thunder Bay, Ont.) in the 83rd and Mintcho Minitchev in the 84th minute.
