Gaels Winning Streak Comes to an End with a 4-2 Loss at Guelph

GUELPH, Ont. (November 20, 2015) - Coming off a big win versus the No.8 ranked Western Mustangs (9-3-0) on Thursday, the Gaels (8-3-0) headed to Guelph to take on the Gryphons.

GAME FLOW
The home team looked to set the tone real early, potting a goal just 31 seconds into the game. Carlos Ametoy netted one past goaltender Jacob Brennan (Halifax, N.S.) to give the Gryphons a 1-0 lead. The Gaels wouldn't let the early deficit get to them though. With a powerplay late in the period, it was leading goal scorer Patrick McGillis (Calgary, Alta.) scoring to tie the game at 1-1.

Guelph took the lead in the second period with the man advantage when Seth Swenson capitalized and put the Gryphons up 2-1 mid-way through the frame. The Gryphons added to their lead two minutes later with Nicholas Trecapelli scoring his third goal of the year. The Gaels would take the two goal deficit into the third.

Looking to chip away at the Gryphons lead, the Gaels would eventually score 13:21 into the final frame. Spencer Abraham (Campbelville, Ont.) scored his fifth of the year and second point on the night to put the game at 3-2. In the final minutes the Gaels would be forced to pull their goaltender. With the net empty the Gryphons would take advantage and pot an empty netter to seal the deal.

Queen's falls 4-2 on the road to Guelph, snapping a three game winning streak.
