OTTAWA (October 3, 2015) - The Gaels were on the road once again, wrapping up their exhibition schedule for 2015 as Queen's was in Ottawa to take on the Ottawa Gee-Gee's before kicking off their regular season at home on October 9th.
The Gaels were the first to strike in the game as Alisha Sealey (Elora, Ont.) scored with assists coming from Mary Coughlin (Amherstburg, Ont.) and Micaela Smith (Cobourg, Ont.). Stephanie Pascal (Sudbury, Ont.) got the start for Queen's and stood tall stopping 12 first period shots from Ottawa.
In the second period the Gee-Gees solved Pascal as Keira St-Laurent beat the Gaels netminder with assists going to Carling Chown and Alannah Jensen.
In the third Queen's struck twice to retake the lead for good. First it was Jessica Wakefield (Lucan, Ont.) scoring with an assist going to Alisha Sealey, her second point of the game. At the 10:19 mark the Gaels put it away as Emily Gervais (Kamloops, B.C.) beat Maude Levesque-Ryan.
The Gaels came away with the win, taking this one 3-1. The women finish up with a 3-4 exhibition record heading into the season.
Pascal finished with 23 saves while Levesque-Ryan tallied 27.Up Next:Now the women set their sights on the 2015-16 regular season schedule. First up are two home games to kick things off versus the Brock Badgers and York Lions at the Memorial Centre.
