Gaels take the sting out of Concordia

MONTREAL, Que. (October 2, 2015) - The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team improved their pre-season record to 3-1 on Friday evening, handily defeating the host Concordia Stingers 67-47.

With the victory, the women have won their last two non-conference matches after splitting their games in Barcelona, Spain in late August and defeating St. Lawrence College on September 21. The Stingers opened up their pre-season on Friday in a losing cause to the Gaels, and will play host to a number of OUA conference opponents in their preparation for the regular season.

The Gaels are back on the court on Tuesday, October 13 when they host the five-time defending CIS champion Windsor Lancers at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. Queen's will then welcome Carleton, UQAM, and Memorial to Kingston from October 16 to 18 for the Tindall Invitational Tournament as they continue their pre-season preparation.

The women kick off the regular season on Saturday, November 7 when they host the York Lions at the ARC. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
