Gaels drop OT result to Concordia

MONTREAL, Que. (October 2, 2015) - The Queen's Gaels men's basketball team kicked off the road portion of their pre-season schedule with a close 77-76 overtime loss to the host Concordia Stingers on Friday evening.

Following a near two-week hiatus from non-conference game play after the Gaels defeated their cross-town opponents from St. Lawrence College by a score of 72-57, the men dropped their first game of the 2015-16 pre-season campaign to the Stingers, who finished as a conference semifinalist in the RSEQ last year.

Next up for the Gaels is their own Queen's Invitational Tournament, which takes place at the Athletics and Recreation Centre from October 16 to 18. The men welcome Cape Breton from the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference, the UQAM Citadins from the RSEQ, and fellow OUA rival Gee-Gees from the University of Ottawa, for a three-day round robin.

Queen's kicks off its regular season schedule at the ARC on Saturday, November 7, playing host to the York Lions.
