Gaels take down Laval in five sets after losing in five Friday

QUEBEC CITY (October 10, 2015) - The Queen's Gaels men's volleyball team was in Quebec City to take on the Laval Rouge et Or this weekend and managed to come away with a 3-2 win in a back-and-forth match after dropping a close 3-2 match Friday.

In their first match on Friday night it was the home team Laval taking a tight affair in five sets 3-2 with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-10 in a match that took over two hours to play. The Gaels fought back from a 2-1 deficit and held on to take a crucial fourth set 25-23 to force the fifth where they fell just short 15-10.

The Gaels got their revenge on Saturday however as they took a 3-2 win over Laval. Set scores finished in the favour of the Gaels at 25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 19-25 and 15-7 in the second match which was another close battle and swung back-and-forth all afternoon.

The Gaels will open their regular OUA season this week as they visit RMC on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.
