Kingston, Ont (September 3, 2014) - The Queen's men's soccer team battled Carleton to a 0-0 tie in their home opener at Miklas-McCarney Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Both teams played with high intensity from the first minute with physical play dominating the game. The Gaels could not capitalize on their first-half scoring chances with Carleton goaltender Felix Daigle turning aside all four shots. Gaels keeper
Taylor Reynolds (Kingston, Ont.) matched Daigle save-for-save highlighted by a spectacular diving stop to rob Carleton's Marco Pozzi of a goal.Â

The second half was highlighted by solid defensive play from both squads with each team being limited to one shot on goal apiece. Carleton began to show signs of frustration as three players earned yellow cards, bringing their total to four in the match. The Gaels made a strong push for a victory during the last five minutes with
Eric Koskins (Richmond Hill, Ont.) narrowly missing two great scoring chances.Â
