OTTAWA (September 12, 2014) - The Queen's women's hockey team defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees 5-2 in an exhibition game as they took to the ice for their first game of 2014-15.
Addi Halladay (North Augusta, Ont.) netted a goal in her Queen's hockey debut in the win for the Gaels.
Shawna Griffin (Redwood Meadows, Alta.),
Taryn Pilon (Peterborough, Ont.),
Courtenay Jacklin (Regina) and
Kyla Crouse (Mount Brydges, Ont.) each registered goals of their own to contribute to the offensive outburst.
Pilon led all skaters with three points and goaltender
Caitlyn Lahonen (Sharon, Ont.) turned aside 26 shots as the Gaels cruised to a decisive victory. Finals shots for the game were 29-28 in favour of Queen's.Â
The Gaels are scheduled to take on Ottawa once again this Sunday at the Cataraqui Community Centre in Kingston at 4 p.m.
