Gaels draw with St. Thomas Aquinas

KINGSTON, Ont. (August 17, 2014) - The Queen's Gaels men's soccer team saw their first action on the pitch Sunday as they welcomed St. Thomas Aquinas for an exhibition friendly. The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in the early season tune up.

It was also the coaching debut for new head coach of the team Christian Hoefler who was hired earlier in the week and got a chance to see his product in action for the first time.

The two teams played a series of 30 minute games to work in a variety of players with the expanded rosters during training camp. The Gaels got their goals from Chris Wellsman (Victoria) and Oliver Coren (Toronto).

Queen's will next host the Old Four Tournament this coming weekend welcoming Toronto, McGill and Western.
