Gaels Lose 71-61 to Tough Rams Squad

| By:
BOX SCORE TORONTO (February 15, 2014) - The Queen's men's basketball team (10-11) lost 71-61 to the No.8-ranked Ryerson Rams (15-6) on Saturday night in Toronto, Ontario.

The first quarter ended with the Gaels leading the Rams 13-11. Both teams were struggling from the free-throw line and from getting any offensive consistency. Ryerson took off in the second quarter and had the Gaels trailing 40-23 at the half.

Roshane Roberts (Vaughan, Ont.) led the Gaels in their last push for a comeback in the fourth quarter. Big threes by Roberts and an aggressive post presence by Nikola Misljencevic (Ottawa) caused double teams and spread the Rams defense, creating better offensive opportunities for the rest of the Queen's players. With the Gaels finding their offensive fire, they brought the score deficit to within six from being down 20. Queen's was unable to narrow the margin further, losing a hard fought battle to the No.8-ranked team in the country.

Roberts of Queen's led all scorers with 24 points, going 3 of 4 from long range. Misljencevic had 14 points of his own and grabbed seven boards. Jamal Jones led his team with 22 points and eight boards on the night.

Queen's will now move on to the OUA quarter-finals. They will play Wednesday and visit either Ryerson or Laurentian.
