THUNDER BAY, Ont. (November 7, 2014) – The No. 8 Gaels lost 82-76 against the Lakehead Thunderwolves this Friday in their first regular OUA season game in Thunder Bay.
Jylisa Williams had an incredible performance for the Thunderwolves leading all scorers with an outstanding 42 points.
Emily Hazlett (Fredericton, N.B) and
Liz Boag (Kingston, Ont.) led the Gaels, each shooting 19 points and Hazlett grabbing six steals.
The Gaels had the early lead pulling ahead by a four point margin which ended up being their greatest lead in the game. The Thunderwolves were quick to catch the Gaels, pulling ahead by the end of the first quarter and keeping the Gaels at bay to lead 40-27 at halftime.
The Gaels closed the gap in the second half with the Thunderwolves only shooting 9% over Queen's from the floor. By the final buzzer Lakehead still had the upper hand solidifying their 82-76 victory over the Gaels.
