ST. CATHERINES, Ont. (November 22, 2014) – The Gaels (0-4) lost in overtime 98-89 against the Brock Badgers (2-3) on Saturday night.
 
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) had an outstanding double-double performance scoring 40 points to lead all scorers and grabbing 13 rebounds. Dan Thompson (Oakville, Ont.) followed him by contributing 21 points to the Gaels final score. The Badgers saw strong performances from Johnell Simpson with 33 points and 13 rebounds as well as Zachary Angelini who scored 20 points.
 
The Badgers dominated the first half, scoring 26 points over the Gaels 14 in the opening quarter. Their offensive pressure continued into the second quarter as they outshot the Gaels putting the score at 48-32 going into the second half.
 
Brock stayed ahead in the third but the Gaels turned up the heat on their offensive front shooting 50 % from the floor over the Badgers 39 %. Queen's burst into the final quarter, outscoring the Badgers 26-8 and cutting down the lead to 77-76 with a minute left. With eighteen seconds on the clock, Cy Samuels (Vaughan, Ont.) completed a clutch jump shot tying up the score at 79-79 to push the game into overtime. The Gaels opened up overtime to grab the lead, but Brock was quick to regain it and pull away putting away a 98-89 win by the end of extra time.  
 
The Gaels will be hosting the York Lions November 26 when they return to OUA action play. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm in the ARC Main Gym.
