AURORA, NY (November 2, 2014) – The Gaels were in New York this weekend for exhibition play against Hobart College and Wells College. Queen's left the weekend with a loss of 67-53 against Hobart College and a 72-53 win against Wells.
 
The Gaels were led by Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) who sunk 24 points to lead all scorers in their victory over Wells College. Tanner Graham (Kingston, Ont.) and Dan Thompson (Oakville, Ont.) were powerhouses on the court for the Gaels putting up 21 points and 15 points, respectively. Jordan Jean was top scorer for Wells, scoring 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
 
The Gaels dominated the court early on, leading Wells until the final buzzer. In the first half the Gaels outshot Wells 15-7, grabbing five points off turnovers and shooting 12 from the paint. They entered the second half with a 41-20 lead.
 
Wells picked up their offense putting the Gaels back on their heels to maintain the lead. The Gaels managed to stay ahead despite Wells outshooting them from the floor, the three line and the charity stripe in the second half. Wells started to close the gap but the Gaels had solidified their lead and claimed a 72-53 victory at the close of the final frame.
 
The Gaels will start their OUA regular season on the road November 8 when they play Lakehead University at 8:00 pm in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
